How Does Habitat Work?

Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent homes alongside our homeowner (partner) families.
Habitat is not a giveaway program. In addition to a down payment and monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor (sweat equity) into building their Habitat home and the homes of others.
Habitat homes are sold to partner families at no profit and financed with affordable loans.
The homeowners’ monthly mortgage payments are used to build still more Habitat homes.

Party with a purpose on Super Sunday, February 5, 2012! Enjoy a great day of football while helping Cedar Valley and Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity build and rehabilitate simple, decent houses in the Linn and Benton counties

Plan to host a party for your friends and family on Sunday, February 5 and enjoy the year’s biggest football game together.
Notify your guests beforehand that you’ll be collecting donations for Habitat for Humanity at halftime.
Become eligible to win fabulous prizes! One lucky party host or attendee will receive our grand prize—an NFL weekend getaway to a city of his/her choice next season!!!
